This policy describes how the H1B Visa Sponsorship Checker for LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice & Glassdoor browser extension (“Extension”) handles information when you use it on LinkedIn job pages, and how the job feed on our website handles information if you choose to sign in to it.
The Extension runs only on LinkedIn URLs under https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/*. It reads company names from job listing elements that are already visible on your screen in the page DOM. It does not access your LinkedIn account settings, messages, feed, profile data, or credentials.
When you view a job listing, the Extension may send the visible company name (plain text) to our backend API over HTTPS:

The Extension offers a free preview. After the preview, continued use requires registering an email address. You may also optionally follow a company to be notified when its H-1B data updates — this stores your email together with the company name you chose to follow. In all cases the email is sent to our backend over HTTPS together with the Extension's random install identifier (see below), and is used only to send product and data updates about this Extension. We do not sell email addresses or share them with third parties. To have your email removed, contact us via the channel in the Contact section.
After you register, we send one message to that address containing a link. Opening the link tells us the address is real and reachable; we record only that it was opened, and when. The link stops working after 7 days, and registering again replaces it. If you never open it, nothing happens — the Extension keeps working exactly the same, and the address is simply recorded as unconfirmed.
Sending that message means the address is passed to our email delivery provider (Resend, resend.com), which handles the delivery on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for anything else. No other information about you is included in the message.
We do not track whether the message was opened, and there are no tracking pixels or per-recipient analytics in it — the only signal is whether the confirmation link itself was opened.
The page you land on after opening the confirmation link shows a short form. Every question on it is optional, and skipping all of them changes nothing about how the Extension works. If you answer, we store what you chose:
We ask about immigration status because it is what decides when someone needs sponsorship, which is the entire subject of this Extension. It is optional like everything else, and “Prefer not to say” is one of the choices. We do not verify it, we do not share it, and we do not use it to make any decision about you.
These answers are used only to decide what to build next and which communities to write for. They are never sold, shared, or used for advertising, and they are not combined with data from anywhere outside this Extension. To have them deleted, contact us via the channel in the Contact section.
To understand how many people the Extension helps, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) once when installed and includes it with lookup requests. This identifier is random, contains no personal information, is not linked to your LinkedIn account or identity, and is used only to count active installs and lookups in aggregate (for example, "how many installs were active this week"). You can reset it at any time by removing and reinstalling the Extension.
The welcome page shown once after installation asks where you heard about the Extension, with a fixed list of answers (for example a forum, a friend, or the Chrome Web Store). Answering is entirely optional — nothing is sent unless you tap one of the buttons, and skipping the question changes nothing about how the Extension works. If you do answer, we store the answer you chose together with the random install identifier described above, and nothing else. It is used only to tell us which communities to keep writing for.
The job feed at /jobs is a separate, optional part of this project. You do not need it to use the Extension, and installing the Extension does not create a feed account.
There is no password and there is no plan for one. You enter an email address and we mail a link that works once and stops working after 15 minutes. Opening it signs that browser in.
Asking for a link does not create an account. Anyone can type any address into that box, including one that is not theirs, so the account is created only when the link is opened — the first moment the address is known to belong to whoever is using it. An address that never opens its link leaves nothing behind but the unopened token.
We store only the SHA-256 of each sign-in link and of each session, never the values themselves. A copy of our database cannot be used to sign in as anyone.
It does not store a CV, applications you make elsewhere, or anything you do on other sites. Job postings themselves come from employers' own public job boards; nothing about your search is sent to those employers.
One cookie, h1b_session, holding a random value that identifies your signed-in session. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, lasts 30 days, and exists only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies anywhere on the site.
The Delete my account button on the feed page removes your email address, your filter, and the record of everything you were shown, and ends every signed-in browser immediately. It deletes rows rather than setting a flag: the data is gone and cannot be recovered, including by us.
Our API and hosting provider (e.g., Railway) may create standard server logs (such as timestamps, IP addresses, and request paths) as part of normal HTTPS operations. Those logs are used for security, reliability, and abuse prevention, not for advertising. Retention depends on the hosting provider and our operational practices.
Sponsorship-related statistics shown by the Extension are derived from public DOL LCA disclosure datasets that we aggregate into our database. The Extension does not scrape LinkedIn at scale or store LinkedIn page HTML on our servers.
The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
